A few weeks ago, I felt so sad and became a bit lazy and unproductive. Dumagdag pa that I gained a lot of weight and my clothes, especially my shorts won't fit me anymore. Buti na lang my girls, Ricci and Chloe kept me busy with our newest project: Sewing. 

They asked me to make doll clothes and the kid in me was unleashed! I started hand-sewing a little piece but my hand won't cooperate. And why is that? well, the last time I tried sewing was way back in my elementary days. So, I asked my younger sis who sews occasionally for help and she sent us her mini sewing machine. My girls were amazed by it and used it for hours, but since it's a mini machine, It felt weird for me, it's super lightweight and seems like a toy. But hey, this machine is a bang for the buck, imagine 300 pesos lang may mini sewing machine ka na that works! Buy the Mini Sewing Machine here

Since my girls and me included shown interest in sewing,  I've finally decided to buy our own sewing machine. We chose Singer Confidence. It's a bit pricey but I know this brand is a good and reliable one. I really,  really want to take my sewing projects to the next level I want to make my own shorts soon! By the way, ever wonder what are the first few things we sew? Yes, doll clothes! Next is that basahan na bilog, I am super curious how it's done and glad I was able to make one or five :P then shorts for the fam. I will kwento all about it soon! but for now, we'll be featuring Scrunchies. 

Wait, what is a scrunchie? yan din tanong ko a few years ago and learned that a scrunchie is just another  word for a hair tie pala often used to achieve a ponytail hairstyle like getting all your hair up and tying it or the likes. And in my generation, we simply call it a ponytail, puyod or panali. Ang shala pakinggan ng Scrunchie diba?

At first, I enjoyed making scrunchies! I find it super cute and nice and easy to make so I want to create more for my girls, fam, and friends and maybe sell some next time. Want to see how super easy this scrunchie-making can be?

How to Make Scrunchies the Easy Way

1. Ready your fabric, thread, garter, and sewing machine.  Hand sewing is also ok
2. Cut it to your desired size.  I started with 2x8 / 2x12 / 3x20 or it's up to you.
3. Fold and Sew the wrong side. And you'll have a tube-like piece.
4. Turn the right side out by using a stick, pen and the likes
5. Insert the garter, check if parts are not twisted, and sew or glue both ends of the garter.
6. Check the scrunchie if the seams were aligned, and ok.
7. Fold both ends of the fabric inward, one overlapping the other, and sew
8. That's it! So, Go girl, and create one,  held your head and hair up high!

Aci Girl Tries to Sew: Easy Scrunchie DIY Tutorial

Here's the Easy Peasy Chocolate Banana Smoothie Recipe. 

Ingredients:

• 1 banana, peeled
• 1 pack Swiss Miss Dark Chocolate
• Ice cubes
• ¾ cup evaporated milk
• Whipped cream/sprinkles and your choice of toppings (optional)

 Instructions:

Ever wonder how I beat the summer heat at home? It's simple, I take my time to go chillin as I go choco loco with a DIY Chocolate-Banana Smoothie in my hands. I got to make its more special with the rich chocolate goodness of Swiss Miss.

Easy Peasy Chocolate Banana Smoothie Recipe

Here's the Easy Peasy Chocolate Banana Smoothie Recipe. 

Ingredients:

• 1 banana, peeled
• 1 pack Swiss Miss Dark Chocolate
• Ice cubes
• ¾ cup evaporated milk

Nung bata pa ako, aliw na aliw ako sa Samsung Note, ang ganda and very nakaka amaze yung may stylus sya. 🥰 Since then, sabi ko, gusto yan! Yan ang dream phone or goal ko. Super like ko yung may pa stylus nya at sulat sulat sa screen kasi I love taking notes dahil sa memory gap'ness ko 😅. My heart went wild nung may lumabas na pink!!!

Kaso the kuripot in me is namamahalan na sa 5k pataas na presyo ng cellphone noon. As as the year goes by, paiba -iba ng challenges and priorites. So, sabi ko next time na lang... hanggang sa nag ka Samsung Note 5, Note 6, 7, 8, and 9 na, wala pa din.

For the mean time, I enjoyed using the following brands: SONY, I super love the camera. ASUS, for the battery life and value for money, I have few units left and buhay pa sila. Sadly, different story ang laptop ko. OPPO for making me a selfie kween and enjoying food and travel photography. Thankful  for these brands who worked with me, and was able to enjoy it naman.

Then, Samsung Note 10 lite in Aura Red Arrives! Super Gandaaaaa! Kaya naman pinag-ipunan ng bongga, rumaket galore, at nung ready na to buy one, me, and mudrabells went to Samsung store. I checked din online, some shops offer it at a very affordable price, pero I always buy sa flagship store para if may problema, mas less-stress.

I watched tons of unboxing and reviews, I even asked friends for feedback, kaya naman the moment I get to feel the live demo unit, I told myself ito na talaga ang fone for me. That's why the moment the sales staff asked how can she help me, I said How much for this one? And she politely answered, Ma'am wala na po yan. 

And I was like "Hala? PHASE OUT NA?!" pero bakit nakadispaly pa din? Ok ako sa display :P charot but no can do. I left Samsung store in Robinsons Manila na super heartbroken. But ate girl makes habol us and mention na may New Note in town. She demo it to us, pero walang nag-si-sink in saken kasi walang red. And mudrabells was like, bilhin mo na kaya mo yan! I said, pag-isipan ko uli.

The next week, I tried my luck naman sa Samsung store in MOA, still the Note 10 lite is on display pero phase out na daw talaga. sana kasi alisin dabah? charot!

Plus sobrang nagloloko na sya at pasaway. This mobilephone just turned a year lang pero  faulty unit ata sya at di ko naman maasikaso na at blockbuster ang pila sa service center. Sumabay pang nagparamdam ang 5 year old dslr ko kaya its must be the universe telling me na Push mo na yan Aci Girl!

After weighing the pros and cons, Tada!!!

I can finally say, Noted with thanks... to myself! Charot!

What makes me decide to buy this Samsung Note 20?

1. Pangarap ko talaga itong smartphone na ito. Ang saya siguro if I have it in Aura Red but as of the moment 2 colors lang ang pagpipilian and I choose the mystic bronze.
2. Size: I want big phones, yung konti na lang tablet na sa size charot! kasi madalas ako matypo sa maliit.
3. Taking notes to the next level. Mahilig akong magsulat-sulat with drawings and colors. at madalas mawala ang pens ko pati notes. ang galing kasi ng memroy ko eh 'kainis. Kaya this one, makakatipid na ako sa pens, highlighter and paper. Dali Ijustify pa natin! :P
4. S pen as remote control for taking pix na mala-magic wand ang features. will elaborate this on my review next time.
5. 108 megapixel + Laser AF Sensor
6. 256 GB storage 
7. Octa-Core
8. Last but not the least... Epekto of watching K'dramas :P

Moral of the story?

1. Pag-isipan maige ang bawat purchase. This took me almost a year 🤣 to decide for the Note 10 lite lalo na may pandemic + extra 1month for the Note 20 naman.

2. Kapag bibili ng gamit na medyo mahal, dun tayo sa installment at  0% interest. But make sure, regular na magbayad.

3. Kung malakas kang gumamit ng data for either personal or business use (raket or sideline), I would suggest getting a post-paid plan with device. 

4. Or pag-ipunan ng bongga kasi mas may discount when you pay cash.

5. Wag tayo sa pautang na bonggacious ang tubo. True na di lahat keri ang mag credit card, but change your mindset, mas ok na ipunin muna ang pera bago ibili, kesa u-utang via lending keme hulug-hulog ng di ka sure + interest if mag mintis.

6. If may gusto kang ma-achieved, bilhin, o gawin, do it, work hard for it, and make it happen.

7. Huwag maglambing na ibili ka ni hubby kasi ikaw ang mabibigo. *based on experience ba ito? Charot! But seriously, RUMAKET ON YOUR OWN so that you have money to buy this and that. Pak! Mas nakaka-proud sa sarili when you work hard and get to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Ikaw, ano ang dream phone mo?

Hawak mo na ba sya today?

Huwag ma'pressure if not... take your time and just like me, kapag may gusto, I always say to myself:

Ang Pangarap kong Cellphone

Nung bata pa ako, aliw na aliw ako sa Samsung Note, ang ganda and very nakaka amaze yung may stylus sya. 🥰 Since then, sabi ko, gusto yan! Yan ang dream phone or goal ko. Super like ko yung may pa stylus nya at sulat sulat sa screen kasi I love taking notes dahil sa memory gap'ness ko 😅. My heart went wild nung may lumabas na pink!!!

Kaso the kuripot in me is namamahalan na sa 5k pataas na presyo ng cellphone noon. As as the year goes by, paiba -iba ng challenges and priorites. So, sabi ko next time na lang... hanggang sa nag ka Samsung Note 5, Note 6, 7, 8, and 9 na, wala pa din.

For the mean time, I enjoyed using the following brands: SONY, I super love the camera. ASUS, for the battery life and value for money, I have few units left and buhay pa sila. Sadly, different story ang laptop ko. OPPO for making me a selfie kween and enjoying food and travel photography. Thankful  for these brands who worked with me, and was able to enjoy it naman.

Then, Samsung Note 10 lite in Aura Red Arrives! Super Gandaaaaa! Kaya naman pinag-ipunan ng bongga, rumaket galore, at nung ready na to buy one, me, and mudrabells went to Samsung store. I checked din online, some shops offer it at a very affordable price, pero I always buy sa flagship store para if may problema, mas less-stress.

I watched tons of unboxing and reviews, I even asked friends for feedback, kaya naman the moment I get to feel the live demo unit, I told myself ito na talaga ang fone for me. That's why the moment the sales staff asked how can she help me, I said How much for this one? And she politely answered, Ma'am wala na po yan. 

And I was like "Hala? PHASE OUT NA?!" pero bakit nakadispaly pa din? Ok ako sa display :P charot but no can do. I left Samsung store in Robinsons Manila na super heartbroken. But ate girl makes habol us and mention na may New Note in town. She demo it to us, pero walang nag-si-sink in saken kasi walang red. And mudrabells was like, bilhin mo na kaya mo yan! I said, pag-isipan ko uli.

The next week, I tried my luck naman sa Samsung store in MOA, still the Note 10 lite is on display pero phase out na daw talaga. sana kasi alisin dabah? charot!

Celebrating during these times doesn't necessarily mean to be grand. We can level up a simple meal by giving a little thought by adding creaminess by using your favorite cheese. Just like today, we are all feeling productive and thankful as my homeschooling girls are about to finish their remaining PACES.  So I look around our kitchen to see what I can to do make a leveled up snack with ingredients readily available at home. Then I saw these 3-days old pandesal.

How To Make Cheesy Garlic Bread in an Instant 

1. Crushed and finely chopped some garlic, 
2. Add some butter, and whip till fluffy. 
3. Spread it on the Pandesals.
4. Topped with Grated Cheese
5. Oven-bake for a few minutes And done! 

Walang oven? Pwede naman sa toaster, Pwede din sa kawali, takpan lang using metal lid. Mas crunchy ang crust but di ko mapapromise na maachieve and pag broiwn ng cheese sa top huh :) pero I bet enjoyable pa din ito.

Cheese Board has been pretty "uso" this year. I've seen this type of food setup mostly on posh events I've been in. And this really is kind of a show stopper. Pano ma ba namang hindi eh napaka ganda and It looks so expensive yet very enticing!

Cheese Board basically consists of different kinds of Cheese cut in beautiful slices, cubes, or delicately flavored spreads. Next is the Savory Meat Slices, then add some Citrus Fruits like oranges, grapes. Include slices of Bread and Crackers too. And that's mostly it, you just have to arrange it according to your taste!

Things you'll need: Wooden Chopping Board. Mini Spatulas for the Spread, Mini Forks or Sticks.

Ingredients: Different kinds of Crackers, Eden Cheese, and Queso de Bola. (You can also add the soft cheese and any other cheese that you like for more variety) I add grapes too.

I just arranged it, simply lining up the crackers on one side, cheese in the middle, jam and honey here and there, and grapes. I skipped the meat part here at di keri ng budget! :P This might be nothing much or not as grand as the usual cheeseboards there is, but I assure you that this is such a flavorful treat.

That's why earlier this year, I created my own version of this cheese board thingy, and If you know me so well, this is on a much "afford mo to" note.

DIY Cheese Board

Cheese Board has been pretty "uso" this year. I've seen this type of food setup mostly on posh events I've been in. And this really is kind of a show stopper. Pano ma ba namang hindi eh napaka ganda and It looks so expensive yet very enticing!

Cheese Board basically consists of different kinds of Cheese cut in beautiful slices, cubes, or delicately flavored spreads. Next is the Savory Meat Slices, then add some Citrus Fruits like oranges, grapes. Include slices of Bread and Crackers too. And that's mostly it, you just have to arrange it according to your taste!
