The STI Talent Search is one of my favorite events to cover as a blogger. I love seeing students showcasing their talents plus field trip mode on the side. Nostalgic feels ang mommy nyo and feeling belong sa younger crowds. Kidding aside and back to being a mommy, I have a 16-year-old son and soon-to-be college na. (Ayan, na-age reveal tuloy) Napag-uusapan na namin ang ang future nya for college like what course to take and where to enroll? And STI is on our list. Pano ba naman kasi STI College 40 years na, plus promotes holistic education too with the previous STI Talent Search 2023-2024 in a Nationwide Talent Celebration.

 

STI College is Committed to producing well-rounded and future-ready graduates and remains dedicated to fostering the holistic growth and development of its students through its diverse co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

Among these initiatives is the longstanding STI Talent Search, which, for the School Year 2023-2024, has made a grand return at the Enchanted Kingdom in Santa Rosa, Laguna. This event serves as a platform to empower STI students and showcase their talents both within and beyond their academic pursuits.

"For 40 years, STI College has been nurturing students’ potential through academic and extracurricular activities. Consistently at the forefront of innovation, we provide our students with holistic learning and real-life experiences to help them become well-rounded individuals," said Ferdie T. Over 22,000 students from various STI campuses across the country gathered for a full-day celebration of talents, skills, and achievements on January 25, 2024.

Simultaneous competitions took place at the Enchanted Kingdom, featuring outstanding student musicians, dancers, heartthrobs, and darlings who vied for national titles in Singing Idol (solo singing competition), Battle of the Bands (band competition), Hataw Sayaw (dance competition), and the much-anticipated Search for Mr. and Ms. STI.

The STI Talent Search is just one facet of the student programs lined up for the academic year, as the institution eagerly prepares to kick off the Second Semester with an array of exciting, network-wide educational activities.

The Second Semester will feature events such as the National Youth Convention (NYC), a youth convention that spans for more than a decade now where thousands of STI students nationwide expand their knowledge in their chosen fields straight from the industry professionals.

Apart from NYC, STI College will also hold the annual Tagisan ng Talino (TNT) and Tagisan ng Sining (TNS), encompassing academic competitions like Think Quest (team quiz bee), CodeFest (mobile app development), Mix ‘n Flair (flair bartending), Travelogue (tour guiding), Chef Xpress (cooking competition), Shutter’s Best (photography), and Director’s Cut (short film), among others.

Have you been to the EU? As for me, I haven't yet but it's definitely on my bucket list! How I really wish that I would be able to explore and experience it too. Luckily, we can now have a glimpse and taste of the European Union for 2 days!

Philippines said, “The essence of the Euro Village is to make these vibrant and diverse cultures accessible to the reach of Filipinos and to open up markets and trade opportunities “.

“Culture has always been at the core of our unique diversity as Europeans”, she said, “We want to share this uniqueness with the Filipinos”, she added saying that the Euro Village project is in celebration of the anniversary of the founding of the European Union on May 9.

From bread and rye, waffles, sausages, dairy products, and beer, to special concerts and sports demonstrations, the Euro Village has lovely surprises in one go.

And for those yearning to learn a European language but who have not yet had the time to try, the Euro Village Cultural and Language Center will bring French, German, Italian, and Spanish lessons in a snap, thanks to the collaboration of Alliance Francaise de Manille, Goethe Institut, Instituto Cervantes Manila and the Philippine-Italian Association.

For those who are interested in  European Music or would like to jam with artist, the Euro Village will have guest performers from Romania, Ukraine, and a serenade from the Manila String Machine, who will be rendering European songs and pieces.

Fantastic mimes and buskers will also be available to entertain guest and participants throughout the two-day European Village festival.

To ensure that this EU’s initiative promotes a sustainable lifestyle and reduction of greenhouse emissions, the EU has engaged with Green Space, Scholars of Sustenance Philippines, and EcoNest as sustainability partners.

I've been extra busy with life happenings, and side biz but still, wishing and cheering that may we all have an Awesome Year ahead! Allow me to start this year's post with Bang! As STI's Talent Search Finals are on! 

STI Fosters Student Development Through Holistic Education

Shaping the youth goes beyond classroom learning as academic institutions now offer a wide array of extra-curricular activities to help build character and better prepare students for the real world. As one of the country’s biggest educational institutions, STI has also adopted this mindset as they apply a holistic education approach within its Enrollment to Employment (E2E) System.

With its dedication to produce well-balanced and highly talented graduates, STI has developed specialized extra-curricular programs that allow students to hone and exhibit their talents inside and outside of their respective courses.

One of its student development programs is its long-running STI Talent Search which for School Year 2022-2023 has now returned to its grand physical format. Back from a brief pause during the pandemic, the event showcases the talents and fosters collaboration of its students nationwide.

Students from STI campuses in different parts of the country gathered in a whole-day celebration of talents, skills, and achievements that upholds STI’s thrust towards excellence on January 13, 2023, at the Star City and Aliw Theater in Pasay City, Metro Manila.  

Several competitions were held simultaneously at the Aliw Theater and Star City featuring the finest student musicians, dancers, heartthrobs, and darlings to compete in this year's Singing Idol (solo singing competition), Battle of the Bands (band competition), Hataw Sayaw (dance competition), and the much-awaited Search for Mr. and Ms. STI 2022.

The STI Talent Search is only one of the student programs lined-up for the school year as the institution prepares to welcome the upcoming Second Semester with more exciting and network-wide educational activities all geared towards holistic development.

My thoughts/review about Lil Giants: Honestly, this group is my second fave! charot on the side! Naitawid nila ang theme. Pasok na pasok sa 39ish Anniversary ang choice of songs. yes, lakas makabagets!  Neat din ang costume. Actually naenjoy ko ang performance nila talaga pero ayoko aminin at mahahalata ang age hahahaha :P

STIers get to enjoy the entire theme park for one whole day, plus, performances from celebrity guests were lined up too.




Oh, diba ang saya? I'm sure STIers had a fun-filled day talaga as they celebrate na din their 39th year anniversary! I know because I was there too! Thank You STI College for having us!

For almost 40 remarkable years of developing students’ potential through academic and extra-curricular activities, STI has always been innovative in providing our students with strong learning experiences to become well-rounded individuals, said Aisa Hipolito, STI Vice President for Academics.

Mapúa and Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance joint program poised to advance fintech industry 



 
Mapúa University has led the charge in elevating the country’s financial technology (fintech) segment with its new Fintech and Regulatory Innovation (FTRI) program, with content powered by the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) of the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, and in partnership with Fintech Alliance.Ph (FTAP).

Mapúa’s FTRI program is the first off-campus Cambridge Fintech and Regulatory Innovation in the ASEAN region that has localized content tailored to the Philippine setting.

 
 




The online tutor-led program, which runs for nine weeks, will enable senior policymakers, central bank regulators, security agencies, and finance officers to formulate evidence-based regulatory, supervisory, and policy responses that can manage the growth and utilization of fintech.

Given the breadth and widespread acceptance of fintech systems in the local and international market, we, at Mapúa, believe that the program we are offering can help senior policymakers, administrative officials, and key leaders more effectively direct and oversee the fintech sector, said Dr. Reynaldo B. Vea, president, and chief executive officer of Mapúa University. 

We hope that through Mapúa’s Fintech and Regulatory Innovation (FTRI) program, which is powered by CCAF of the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, and in partnership with FTAP, we can help enable the administration and business leaders to create standardized measures, and appropriate safety nets that will safeguard the economy, enterprises, and consumers as fintech continues to evolve and grow, 

Unlike other programs that only teach fintech fundamentals, the university’s FTRI certificate course tackles hard-hitting regulation concerns such as regulatory responses, innovation offices, regulatory and supervisory technologies, regulatory reforms, and international cooperation.

The fully online program will have a one-hour synchronous class once a week and asynchronous lessons for the rest of the week. It will commence in April 2023 and conclude with capstone project presentations by June 2023. Mapúa University has led the charge in elevating the country’s financial technology (fintech) segment with its new Fintech and Regulatory Innovation (FTRI) program, with content powered by the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) of the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, and in partnership with Fintech Alliance.Ph (FTAP).

Mapúa’s FTRI program is the first off-campus Cambridge Fintech and Regulatory Innovation in the ASEAN region that has localized content tailored to the Philippine setting.

 
 




The online tutor-led program, which runs for nine weeks, will enable senior policymakers, central bank regulators, security agencies, and finance officers to formulate evidence-based regulatory, supervisory, and policy responses that can manage the growth and utilization of fintech.

Given the breadth and widespread acceptance of fintech systems in the local and international market, we, at Mapúa, believe that the program we are offering can help senior policymakers, administrative officials, and key leaders more effectively direct and oversee the fintech sector, said Dr. Reynaldo B. Vea, president, and chief executive officer of Mapúa University.
