Leading mobile wallet makes insurance products available to LGBTQIA+ couples

Partners offer products eligible for LGBTQIA+ members all-year round

“Love knows no boundaries; we are free to love and protect anyone and everyone. You can embrace a worry-free life, knowing we’ve got your back”  - Winsley Bangit, GCash VP of New Businesses

Everyone deserves to be happy.  This is one of the good news shared by GCash and through the GCash App, every user can get access to its services which includes application for insurance policy by using your smartphones anytime and anywhere.

Even as the Pride Month has ended, GCash, the Philippines’ leading mobile wallet, is continuing to provide inclusive financial products all-year round through GInsure.

For as low as PHP60, same-sex couples can now have access to a wide selection of affordable insurance products through GInsure through its partners namely FPG Insurance, Singlife, Sun Life, and Generali. These companies allow LGBTQIA+ couples to easily designate their partners as beneficiaries for their chosen insurance coverage. This is also one of the many ways that GCash is helping enable its partner insurance companies to support the mandate of the Insurance Commission (IC) to allow policyholders to designate their same-sex partners as beneficiaries for their plans.

Access to inclusive insurance was also one of the key messages highlighted during GTalks: “Werk With Pride”, an event recently hosted by the leading e-wallet, in line with its core vision to make financial inclusion a reality for all.

Bangit discussed how GInsure provides accessible and affordable financial products and protection for all.

“Here at GCash, our vision is “Finance for All” and we continue to look for ways to be more inclusive. That’s why we make availing of financial services easy and affordable for the millions of Filipinos that we serve. GInsure was launched in 2020 with the goal of democratizing access to insurance products, and to provide protection for all. We firmly stand by this belief and are further encouraged that the industry stakeholders are like-minded,” Bangit said.

The event was also attended by leaders from some of its key partner insurance companies namely FPG Insurance AVP Vinelle Haber and FPG Sales Officer Michael Taguidin, Singlife head of B2B2C Kame Amado, and Generali relationship business manager Glaudine Pelingon with Generali assistant manager Dainty Abriera.

Even beyond Pride Month, GCash remains an essential tool for millions of Filipinos, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression, as it encourages everyone to achieve financial independence by providing easy, accessible, and inclusive financial services.

Magpadala for FREE sa GCash Padala until September 15
Sagot Namin and GCash Padala niyo! LIBRE and padala fees to non-Gcash users

Pwede na MagpadaLOVE for FREE sa GCash Padala until September 15

Leading mobile wallet and digital payment solutions provider GCash is extending a new service called GCash Padala.

GCash Padala is a more affordable, faster and easier way for Filipinos without an e-wallet account to receive money instantly, and free of charge, anywhere in the Philippines via the GCash app.

In an effort to reduce travels and keep activities to only the essentials, GCash Padala allows senders to save time and effort from physically going to remittance centers, giving them the option to do all this through their mobile phones.

While GCash Padala boasts one of the lowest remittance rates, charging up to as low as a 1% remittance fee with a minimum send of P500, in an effort to extend much needed help and alleviate today’s Filipino of worrying to go out of their homes this ECQ, GCash is waiving all Padala fees until September 15, 2021.

“We hope our new service brings more Filipinos the ease and convenience of sending money during this ECQ,” said Winsley Bangit, GCash Chief Customer Officer. “GCash Padala aims to make everything Pinabilis, Pinamura, at Pinadali for users and recipients alike. Hopefully, this also encourages those who are still reluctant to use financial technology to download the GCash app and experience the convenience and ease it continues to bring many Filipinos here and around the world.”

For a recipient to claim the transaction, they just need to present one valid ID at any of the 17,000 GCash Padala partners located nationwide. These partners include Posible, Go VIP Center, Tambunting, Panalo Express, True Money, Express Pay, and local authorized “pera outlet” sari-sari stores too.The claiming process is made easier and more convenient to also prevent recipients from spending too much time outdoors.

To access the service, the sender logs into the GCash app, selects “Send Money,” and taps the “GCash Padala” option. A user interface pops up next where the sender will key in the intended recipient’s full name, mobile number, and the amount of money to be sent. Afterwards, the sender has to confirm the transaction and pay for it using existing funds from his GCash account to send the money successfully. A notification with reference number of the transaction, and other detailed information, will be sent via text message to both the sender and the recipient in real-time as soon as the process has been completed.

Making it Up to Mom this Christmas with a little help from GCash

It’s less than a month before Christmas and I just cannot wait to go back to my hometown. It’s been a while since I visited, and I really miss my family.

There's so much ganap's that have been happening and we are still adjusting. But the hardest part of it all is being away from home and from Mudrabells. We used to live just right next door to her house so everything was easy-breezy back then, and we all missed her and the holidays never fail to make me more homesick than ever.
This year was perhaps the least number of visits I had home, mainly because of work, kids' schedules, and the traffic. I feel a little guilty about it, and I want to make it up big time to my mom, who I know misses me and the kids tremendously. Gifts are my love language, from the small tokens to major presents. I have been saving up this last quarter so I could pull off my grandest gift-giving yet. It’s been a challenge thinking of the best and biggest gift to give her for the holidays, and my mom is a picky one, so I thought why not give her the liberty to choose it herself?

And so I decided to give her cash. I wanted to give her something she could spend on herself and on what she really wants. But I wasn’t really keen on physically handing over money to her—it looks like some payment. So I decided on a little surprise, and I sent it early. As it is the Christmas rush, payment centers and bank queues are quite crazy these days. Thankfully, there’s an app for that: GCash.

I’ve been using GCash for what most people may know it for—scan-to-pay and bills payments. But recently, I discovered perhaps the most useful feature for me, which is sending money through bank transfers *I honestly don’t know how I could have missed this feature! It was super easy to learn. I linked my bank account to the app and cashed it in. This saves me from the need to withdraw cash and then put funds into my GCash over the counter, like what I would usually do between my bank accounts. After cashing in, all I needed to do was go to the Send Money option, tap Send Money to Bank Account. GCash is linked to 42 banks and financial institutions, including all major banks, so it was easy to find my mom’s bank. On top of this, it does not charge any bank transfer fees! I put in my mom’s name and bank account and pressed send. That was it. I sent her a text about the surprise and, true enough, she received the cash instantly. She called on the video to say her thanks. The look on her face was just priceless. I love it when I can make my mom feel like that. That moment, the feeling of (kind of) making it up to her warmed my heart. Of course, nothing compares to actually being home, and that is going to happen very soon.
