Richard Gutierrez, Sarah Lahbati, and kids as Defensil Isopropyl Alcohol  Brand Ambassadors

Defensil 70% Solution Isopropyl Alcohol continues its campaign to be Filipino families’ ally in germ protection in the new normal as they welcome newlyweds, Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati, together with their adorable kids Zion and Kai, as their brand ambassadors.

Adjusting to the New Normal with Defensil Isopropyl Alcohol. Richard and Sarah, who got married in a solemn ceremony earlier this year, celebrated their new life together in quarantine. While being stuck at home was an opportunity for them to spend more time together as a family—planting, painting, and playing all sorts of games, they also needed to go through a lot of adjustments as a family.

One adjustment that they had to do was to look for better ways to protect their family against germs, with the threat of the virus still continuing up until now. They found their newest ally in Defensil 70% Solution Isopropyl Alcohol, which promises a higher level of protection against germs and viruses.

“We believe in innovative products. Not only does Defensil come from a company we trust, Defensil 70% Solution Isopropyl Alcohol is also recommended by experts,” said Sarah.
“And since we use alcohol more frequently to sanitize, I also like how it not only kills germs and bacteria, but also has moisturizer to not dry our skin,” she added.

One way to prevent the spread of germs is regular disinfection of hands and high touch surfaces using rubbing alcohol. To provide a higher level of defense against germs in the new normal, the Philippine Society for Microbiology is recommending Defensil 70% Solution Isopropyl Alcohol.

Created by Beauty Elements Ventures Inc, Defensil 70% Solution Isopropyl Alcohol kills 99.9% of germs to give Richard and Sarah’s family the peace of mind that they are well-defended. It starts to kill germs on contact and upon constant use, provides up to 12-hour protection.

New Normal Holidays: Celebrating the holidays is surely going to be different for the Gutierrez family this year. For Richard and Sarah, social distancing is something that they’re keeping in mind as they celebrate the holiday season, along with making sure that everyone sanitizes and disinfects using Defensil.

The family wishes to go on a local holiday trip bringing their new ally, Defensil. With this, Sarah shares three simple tips to fellow parents on how to keep their family safe from germs during the holiday season.

  • First, social distancing is a must.
  • Second, always wear a mask. It is important for parents to teach their kids the importance of wearing masks, which help to prevent the transmission of the virus.
  • And, lastly, always disinfect with an alcohol that makes sure you and the family are well-defended— like Defensil Isopropyl Alcohol.

Watch How Globe Helps Filipinos Recreate the #ChristmasWeLove This Holiday Season

Filipinos are known to have the grandest (and longest) Christmas celebrations out there, complete with all kinds of traditions and merry-making. Now that safety restrictions are still in place, however, we are definitely looking at a very different kind of celebration this year. While it’s hard not to feel deflated in the absence of the usual Christmas buzz, maybe we can take it as an opportunity to cherish those in our lives, while also giving a bit of ourselves to people around us, extending kindness and support in any way we can.

Through its newest video, Globe highlights how small acts of kindness can bring us together, show our thoughtfulness, and help us celebrate the traditions we treasure this season. Just like its commitment to help Filipinos recreate better days, Globe is one with all of us in continuing to celebrate the #ChristmasWeLove despite the uncertainty of the times we live in.

Globe believes that where there is kindness, there is Christmas. Strip away the shiny decorations and lights, and we see the season is really all about love and generosity of spirit. Every time we choose to be a blessing to others, whether it’s to our loved ones or complete strangers, we are embodying the true meaning of Christmas and sharing its magic to more people in the hopes of them paying it forward to others as well.

Part of the holiday magic lies in the traditions we cherish every year.  This year, Globe makes it possible for the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) to go on, with its movies streamed through the new video-on-demand platform, Upstream, and tickets from GMovies.  Filipinos anywhere can now watch the best and brightest of local films as they do every Christmas season.  Globe’s 12 Treats of Christmas also promises to recreate Christmas cheer through an array of digital holiday events and experiences such as SuperGamerFest thru Globe Prepaid Virtual Hangouts, a Christmas Concert @ Home featuring December Avenue by Globe At Home, and a Christmas edition of Globe Poppin Quiz Night.

The TM FunPasko Music Fest on December 15 is also an enjoyable event not to be missed,  where local artists like SB19, The Juans, and Donnalyn Bartolome will perform on the virtual stage to delight everyone at home!

To cap the holiday fun, special Christmas offers from various merchants await customers at the Globe Rewards app. Use your points to redeem rewards from [merchants] and even to different causes and organizations that Globe supports.

Fortunately, Globe is helping bring cherished Christmas traditions back to life through its various virtual events and experiences that bring the holiday cheer into Filipinos’ homes, starting with the MMFF.  Using the newest video-on-demand platform, UPSTREAM, and online cinema ticketing platform, GMovies, movie buffs can now stream all 10 entries for this year’s MMFF at home, wherever they are in the world. Yes, you read that right — even Filipinos abroad can watch the festival entries and have a taste of home this Christmas.

The online ticket selling for MMFF on GMovies is now open for Philippine residents, while those abroad can avail their tickets starting from December 18. Just visit gmovies.ph to view the line-up of entries, click “View Details”, and pay via multiple options to book your tickets.

Here are the 10 MMFF entries that you can reserve now on GMovies: Coming Home directed by Adolfo Alix, Jr, Magikland directed by Christian Acuña, Mang Kepweng: Ang Lihim ng Bandanang Itim directed by Topel Lee, Isa Pang Bahaghari directed by Joel Lamangan, Tagpuan directed by McArthur Alejandre, Suarez the Healing Priest directed by Joven Tan, The Boy Foretold by the Stars directed by Dolly Dulu, Fan Girl directed by Antonette Jadaone, The Missing directed by Easy Ferrer, and Pakboys: Takusa directed by Al Tantay.

Make Holiday Bonding More Special with GMovies

With Christmas around the corner, families are already making holiday plans. The pandemic has prohibited us from gathering in large crowds, so we will likely spend the Christmas season at home. Thankfully, the internet has made it possible for us to see and experience the world outside even if we’re indoors.

One of the best ways to spend a holiday  weekend is to watch great movies. Globe is recreating the cinema experience with GMovies through its partnership with video on demand (VOD) platform UPSTREAM. Now, you can stream new and classic movies, both local and foreign titles,  from the comfort of your home.

Here’s how to  make your family’s holiday bonding more special with GMovies and UPSTREAM:

1. Set up a cozy space
An advantage of having movie night at home is that you can design your space the way you want it. Work with what you have, whether it’s a bed, a couch, or a laptop to screen your films. Make it cozy by having a warm blanket, lots of pillows, and enough space to get comfortable.

2. Prepare snacks
What would movie night be without snacks? Recreate the cinema by microwaving some popcorn (with extra butter, of course), or create a grazing spread with all your favorite snacks. Make it fancy with some cheese and cold cuts, or keep it casual with your favorite chips, nachos, and soda.

3. Fun activities between movies
A movie marathon can be long and you’ll want time to stretch your legs and move around in between films. Use the time to bond with your family by having fun activities, like a board or card game, a chance to cook some snacks or refill drinks, or just sit around and talk about the last movie you watched.

4. Watch classic Filipino films
The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is a much-awaited annual cinematic event, made even more special this year by a pre-festival retrospective to be mounted byGMovies and UPSTREAM. MMFF has always been diverse with their offerings, so the pre-game will have movies for everyone. Comedy fans will love Die Beautiful (2016) and Enteng Kabisote: Okay Ka Fairy Ko... The Legend (2004), while those who love rom-coms can stream English Only, Please (2014). For horror fans, there’s Shake, Rattle & Roll 2K5 (2005), The Echo or Sigaw (2004), and Spirit Warriors (2000). The MMFF retrospective runs from December 7 to 24.

5. Welcome Christmas with the MMFF
This year’s MMFF will welcome Christmas yet again on December 25. This year’s lineup includes interesting titles, such as Antoinette Jadaone’s Fan Girl, which premiered at the Tokyo International Film Festival; the rom-com and boy’s love film The Boy Foretold by the Stars; and Magikland, a big-budget sci-fi movie directed by the late Peque Gallaga.

To get movie night started, families can simply visit the GMovies website, select the movie they want to watch, and pay via GCash or debit or credit card. Make bonding time with the family more special during the holidays with a movie marathon with GMovies and UPSTREAM!

For more information, visit the GMovies website at gmovies.ph/ or follow GMovies on Facebook (facebook.com/GMoviesApp) and Instagram (@GMovies).

Globe’s Holi-Games Showcase Gives an Exciting Sneak Peek on the Future of Gaming with 5G

With all the time we are spending at home, more and more people are turning to  gaming as a fun way to bond with friends and family even when they are miles away. If you’re looking to level up your game, Globe has just what you need.

For the Holi-Games Showcase, the 3rd episode of Globe’s #ChristmasWeLove Live Pop-Up, celebrity couple and gamers Mikael Daez and Megan Young demonstrated how Globe 5G can usher in the new generation of gaming for everyone with its promise of lower latency and lightning-fast speeds.

Through this, cloud gaming becomes possible, which means you can play a wide array of games on demand without having to buy a console or a gaming PC – all you need is your phone! To show how amazing this can be, Mikael and Megan played a game of King of Fighters XIII on the Gameloft Stream powered by Blacknut Cloud Gaming App, of course using Globe 5G. The two noted how smooth and seamless the gameplay is as they did not experience any input lag while playing.

When talking about 5G, virtual reality (VR) will  always be in the conversation. VR provides a more immersive and dynamic experience to the game, bringing the players into different worlds beyond their limited space. If you want to discover and watch VR videos for free, you can try it  on YouTube, the official VR partner of Globe, using the Globe VR cardboard. This is a great way to travel virtually this holiday while staying safe at home.

Finally, the much-awaited Niantic AR Demo trailer was also shown at the Holli-Games Showcase. Globe is the only Southeast Asian founding member of the Niantic Planet-Scale AR Alliance, which will make available exclusive 5G-ready AR content, and demonstrate consumer AR experiences that set the standard for what innovation means in a 5G world.

Because it’s the season of giving, Mikael and Megan gave Globe 5G-ready phones to three lucky viewers who answered the League of Legends: Wild Rift Pop Quiz questions correctly so they can jumpstart their 5G journey with Globe. They also played a League of Legends: Wild Rift match-up with Team Liyab where the winner gets to donate Php 50,000 to their charity of choice. In the end, Megan and her team won for Smile Train Philippines.

You can also play Wild Rift with your friends when you subscribe to GoSURF with free GoWatch and Play, GG30 and GG50, or GoPLAY10 booster for Globe Prepaid via the GlobeOne app.

You may still catch Globe’s Holi-Games show on Globe’s Facebook page via this link: https://www.facebook.com/globeph/videos/1270674469960844/.

Globe’s powerful 5G network is now available in 11 cities in Metro Manila, and in key areas in Davao and Cebu. Visit globe.com.ph/5g to know more.

Glazed Christmas ham

4 must-try Noche Buena classic dishes with a twist

Food has always been a big part of every celebration. As Filipinos are known for having the grandest Christmas celebration in the world, there will surely be tables filled with unique and festive dishes to match the season’s merriments. Now, to help you get into the Holiday spirit, Solane, the leading LPG brand in the country, shares how to put appetizing and creative twists on some classic Filipino Christmas dishes to level up your Noche Buena.

Glazed Christmas Ham
A Christmas ham certainly completes a Noche Buena table. But instead of just taking it out of the box and putting it on a plate, make it more flavorful and enjoyable. First, place your ham on a roasting pan lined with foil then score it vertically. In a saucepan over low heat, make your glaze by melting a stick of unsalted butter then mixing in one cup of brown sugar, half a cup of orange juice, half a cup of honey, and two tablespoons of Dijon mustard. Once the sugar has dissolved and the glaze has thickened, pour half of it over your scored ham. Put the ham in the oven at 350°F for 10 minutes per pound. Make sure to baste the ham with your remaining glaze halfway through.

Crispy Lechon Roll
Lechon is another Holiday favorite among Filipinos. First, get a slab of pork belly and lay it flat on a surface. Rub it with salt and pepper and let it rest for 15 to 30 minutes. Next, arrange a pile of lemongrass, scallions, garlic, and red onions on top of the pork belly, and then roll it until it forms a spiral shape. Use kitchen twine to tie the meat and brush the outside with annatto oil. Place it on a roasting pan with a rack, then put it in a preheated oven at 350°F for two hours or until the meat is tender and the skin is crispy.

Extra Meaty Spaghetti.
No matter what the occasion, Filipino-style spaghetti will always be present! So take it to the next level by adding a surprise ingredient – longganisa! In a pan, start by sautéing minced garlic and onions before adding the ground beef. You can also add finely diced carrots to up the health factor. Once the beef has turned brown, mix in your longganisa and hotdogs. Then, add salt and pepper to taste. Pour in the Filipino style spaghetti sauce of your choice then let it simmer. Now, pour it over your cooked pasta noodles, grate some cheese, and enjoy!

Decadent Queso de Bola Cheesecake.
After a hearty meal, your guests will surely crave for dessert. So why not make another Christmas staple with a fun twist -- queso de bola cheesecake? In a bowl, start by mixing one cup of crushed graham crackers, sugar, and a quarter cup of melted butter. Once combined, press it down to the bottom of a springform pan then chill. For the cheesecake filling, mix three packs of softened cream cheese and sugar before adding your special ingredient – a cup and a half of finely grated queso de bola. Next, beat in three eggs then pour over the chilled graham crust. Simply bake it for around 40 minutes or until the filling has set. You may also serve it with mangoes or blueberries for added sweetness.

If you want to prepare all those dishes and more, Solane can help you have a stress-free experience in the kitchen with its quality and safe LPG that you can now order online. For more information, visit www.solane.com.ph and https://www.facebook.com/solane.ph/.

Canon Philippines Unveils new PIXMA G Series Printers to Boost Productivity for Home and Small Businesses

Canon expands its PIXMA Ink Efficient G Series line with the latest refillable ink tank printers combining high ink volumes and low-cost printing. The new G Series include the drip-free, hands-free ink refilling mechanism, and a user-replaceable maintenance cartridge design to ensure minimum downtime and maximum productivity for homes and businesses.

Right out of the box, the new Canon G series includes enough ink to last years for most users, delivering up to 7,600 pages for black-only documents, and 7,700 pages for colour documents. This presents an easy choice for users who need to print more without hesitation and has the potential to transform traditional printing habits completely.

The printers are suitable for general use or photo printing, with the dedicated use of pigment black ink for crisp and sharp text in text documents and line drawings, and automatic switching to only dye-ink colour channels when there is a need to produce full-borderless glossy photos up to A4 sizes.

To avoid unintended filling of coloured inks into the wrong tank openings, the new Canon G series features new ink bottle designs, with outlet nozzles that fit only in the respective colour tank well openings. Ink filling is fast, drip-free, and hands-free, allowing users to complete the entire unboxing and setup process in just minutes while maintaining a mess-free workstation.

An integrated ink tank design also keeps the printer footprint compact, while providing a clear visual indication of remaining ink levels.

The user-replaceable maintenance cartridge design of the new Canon G series will also save users numerous trips to authorized service facilities. Replacement of the maintenance cartridge and the subsequent automatic reset of the internal ink counter prolongs the printer lifetime well beyond conventional printers and ensures users can continue to print as intended with minimal downtime.

Canon PH Unveils New PIXMA G Series Printers
