Solane Kitchen Hero Chefs’ Edition in Manila

Solane Kitchen Hero Chefs’ Edition has finally made its final stop at Tiendesitas in Pasig City. Solane Kitchen Hero is the first-ever cooking competition that aims to discover the next big name in the Culinary World.

“Through this competition, we aim to recognize these chefs who are vital in bringing Filipino cuisine to the world stage. At the same time, we are on a journey to explore and highlight Filipino specialties that are unique to ur provinces,” said Isla LPG corp. CEO Ruben Domingo. “We’re on the last stretch of the culinary competition and we’re back in Metro Manila to name the last Solane Kitchen Hero contender.”

Solane Kitchen Hero has conducted a total of 15 competition legs in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, resulting in 15 Solane Kitchen Hero finalists. The regional winners will compete in the semi-finals where the top 5 qualifies will move on to the grand finals for the final cook-off to find out who among them will be hailed the champion of Solane Kitchen Hero Chefs’ Edition.

For this one-of-a-kind cook-off challenge, participants must be Filipino professional chefs with at least three (3) years of kitchen experience gained locally or abroad. They must be currently employed as a professional check in a hotel, restaurant, or any foodservice establishment.

The culinary creations will be judged by renowned chef and Solane Kitchen Hero ambassador Chef Sa del Rosario and bestselling author and Solane Kitchen Hero competition director Nancy Reyes-Lumen together with Chef Karlas Reyes, Chef Myke Tatung, and food writer Nina Daza Puyat.

Criteria for Judging: 50% features ingredients - the recipe must include at least one local ingredient inherent to the province being represented.  50% originality and creativity - The participant must creatively show a tested recipe that corresponds to the local ingredient/s being used. 


The competition will run until September 6, 2019, at Elements at Centris in Quezon City.

The winner of Solane Kitchen Hero Chefs’ Edition will take home P100,000 and will embark on a culinary trip to Japan with customized stops at different food and drink destinations.
