2020 for me is the year of kaliwa't-kanang eye-opener, struggles here, and there,  and us realizing that it's not the year for us to get what we want, but to appreciate each and every little thing we already had and being thankful for all the help and blessings that come our way. Even Jack Ma said that 2020 is the year for us to stay alive. Last, but not the least, understanding that the greatest wealth is health and "IPON" / Savings is a Must.

So, with all that realizations, mas natakot akong mawalan ng pera. Buti na lang maski pano nakapag-ipon ako ng slight at yun ang nadudukot-dukot namin ngayon. 

Kaakibat nyan ang bonggang pagtitipid, bawas takeout and more on homecooked meal, limit softdrinks and powdered juices, and go for water lang muna para mas healthy. Wala munang bili-bili ng luho at mga bagay-bagay na di naman talaga kinakailangan para makaraos sa pangaraw araw. Ikaw, may ipon ba? 

Normally, January ang simula ng mga IPON CHALLENGES na ito, as new year resolution for most of us. February na, pero bakit ngayon lang ako mag sisimula? Momsh, and Besh, another happy life mantra is don't compare and do it on your own phase. Also, IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO START SAVING MONEY. 

Look here,jJust some of the "Ipon Challenges" I stumbled upon.


  1. Good-Old-Fashion Alkansya / Piggy Bank.  Any amount, any day, coins, paper bills it's up to you.
  2. 52 Week Ipon Challenge. There's a target amount to save for every week. Some will start at 100, then 200, next is 300 or 400 and to some, it gets doubled every time.
  3. Ipon Kit. This became so popular a few years ago but I didn't go for it. This has a checklist/tally and a certain number of coins, and paper bills you must collect.
  4. 365 Days Ipon Challenge. Parang di ko din ata to kaya, kasi minsan meron, minsan wala akong andabells.
  5. Paluwagan. Ito nasubukan ko na ito nung highschool ako and ang saya kasi nakabili ako ng cellphone :P This is a group effort kung saan you'll have to give a certain amount daily, weekly or monthly. It's must na mag comply lang lahat ng kasali para everybody happy. Take turns sa pag sahod. Palabunutan who'll go first. Dapat reliable at strict ang collector/leader at bawal ang pasaway sa members or else kuyog! charot.
  6. Automatic Savings Plan via ATM Bank Accounts This is my WISH-KO-LANG and Savings Goal. Ideal for those who have regular income or goal-getter. Yung set aside mo agad ang a certain amount/percent for savings and not the other way around. IPON lang ng IPON hanggat kaya.
  7. Invisible Money. THIS WORKS FOR ME! Ito yung pipili ka kung anong denomination ang bet mo and every time na you'll have it, SAVE IT.

IPON Challenge #IponChallenge

I tried it with P50's and P200's pero nao-OC ako sa 200 and I want to get rid of it agad-agad kaya gastos din agad. Successful ako sa 50's and madami-dami din ata naipon ko nito noon, I think kumasya sya para makabili ako ng bluetooth speaker. Yung lang, I'm too shy to document it pa. This year, I need to make ipon uli. And I think I'll go for INVISIBLE MONEY pa din. Kasi this works for me, no pressure pero dapat honest and disciplined para mas pak! at achieved ang goal at the end of the year. 

Dahil color of the year PANTONE Illuminating 13-0647 I'll go for Php500 bill as my IPON CHALLENGE for 2021. With that, Nag-iisip na ako ng paraan, naglilinis-linis ng bahay baka sakaling may gamit ako na pwede pang pakinabangan at ibenta para maging pera. Naghahanap ng pagkakakitaan, at nagreresearch kung anong maliit na negosyo ang pwedeng simulan para makapagipon din ako for myself. Tandaan, Pag may isinuksok, May madudukot. Pag may tiyaga, may nilaga.

Para mas safe at levelled-up ang ipon natin, let's put your ipon in micro savings or in the bank. Apply for a savings account, go for passbook. (Ako I don't use or apply for atm cards, para di ako ma'tempt na magwithdraw hihi. Also, mas ok if you'll put it on time deposit or investment. Pero I'm sure mas maganda kung papaikutin mo ang savings mo for business.
