Does the thought of going to the hospital fill you with anxiety? You are not alone.
When I was younger, I don't feel like going to hospitals or being there having any case of emergency or even check-ups. I’m afraid of contracting germs and worried about being around death. And now that these memories are kicking in, I kinda felt sad and lucky at the same time. Sad, in the sense that our family was not able to have ourselves checked on a regular basis by doctors; and my parents just settled for the public health center near our place for the reason that it's cheaper compared to private hospitals and big public hospitals which require a lot of requirements from by the government; but check-ups and other medical procedures are almost free sometimes. I felt lucky in a way that I didn't get any major injuries when I was still a child.
When I am not feeling well, I just endure it having a mind-set of ‘I’ll get well soon’. Saying to myself that I just need some rest and I will be back on track again. But it was just a couple of years ago when I started feeling not really well when I was diagnosed of having a heart problem. And since my husband got me covered through his HMO, I gave it a go.
And being a mom of three lovely children, my anxiety in going to hospitals should be cured. Thanks to ManilaMed as I have received an invitation from them to visit their hospital and see first-hand the latest developments in their facilities, equipment and services.
Learning about ManilaMed is a good option to consider. I will be sharing to you the things I’ve discovered during my visit at ManilaMed:
1. A good location situated at the heart of the City of Manila, U.N. Avenue. near the U.N. Avenue LRT1 Station.

3. ManilaMed is in the forefront of the healthcare industry through the continuous innovation of its facilities and services to meet the growing global demand for an excellent medical experience.
4. Modern and latest state-of-the-art medical facilities which ManilaMed believes that the first step for a patient to getting better is to understand it better, not as a patient number, but as a person who wants and deserves to get well.
5. Pro-Women's Health (Center for Women's Health). As the first hospital in the country to provide this kind of center specifically for women, ManilaMed takes it #FeelBetter vow even further. 5 major subspecialties are now housed in this one-stop-shop, all of them concerned with conditions specific to females.
6. Experienced Medical Staff and Best Doctors. ManilaMed has healing professionals trained by science, molded by experienced. They are motivated by purpose and filled with compassion which they dedicate their lives to every patient and the community.
7. Dedicated to making you #FeelBetter. For every person who walks through the doors of ManilaMed, they promise nothing but the very best – all in the interest of making feel better.
I am very thankful to ManilaMed because I have conquered my fear since I entered their hospital because it is not just a typical ‘hospital’ that every Filipino is used to. Actually, the ambiance of the hospital is like a hotel that’s why I am not afraid to go to any hospital anymore plus the things I have learned in myself during the hospital tour. The best thing about hospital anxiety is that this anxiety is temporary. Maybe the reason I WAS afraid before is that since my childhood days, a lot of people is talking about their common notion about a typical hospital in the country. But now, I am proud to say that I AM NOT AFRAID of going to the hospital anymore, especially in ManilaMed where I feel better whenever I enter their doorsteps.
Lucky I am to have the chance to interview face-to-face the president of ManilaMed, Mr. Jose Ronaldo Delos Santos, where I’ve got the opportunity to know first-hand what ManilaMed has for us.
