McDonald’s launches the fun with The Angry Birds Happy Meal


The Angry Birds have landed in McDonald’s with ten new collectible Happy Meal toys, available starting May 11. 

There are ten Angry Birds Happy Meal toys to collect while supplies last –Light-Up Red, Speedster Chuck, Lasso Pig, and slingshot launchers featuring Red, Bomb, Stella, Terence, Leonard, Cowboy Pig, and Pilot Pig. 

The newest Happy Meal toy collection features playful characters from ‘The Angry Birds Movie,’ which gives a colorful back story to the biggest mobile game of all time. The movie will be in cinemas starting May 11. 

In addition to the Happy Meal toys, McDonald’s boosts the Angry Birds fun to where it all began, in a mobile gaming app. McDonald’s customers can unlock an exclusive experience in the ‘Angry Birds Action!’ app by scanning a ‘BirdCode’ printed on the Happy Meal Box. 

To activate the secret game in the ‘Angry Birds Action!’ app: simply open the app, click on the BirdCode-enabled icon, and scan the code. This brings the user to a mini-game with the mission to defend McDonald’s from the green pigs. Players will be rewarded with free power-ups depending on their score. 


1. Light-Up Red

Press button to activate a red glow and make Red’s eyebrows move down.



2. Speedster Chuck 





 Pull back Chuck to wind up. When released he will move slowly at first then suddenly speed up.

3. Lasso Pig 


 Push button on back to make lasso spin round and round.

4. Red 

  Load Red onto slingshot launcher. Press button to launch Red toward the targets. 

5. Angry Birds’ Bomb Character Launcher 

 Load Bomb onto slingshot launcher. Press button to launch Bomb toward the targets.

6. Stella 

 Load Stella onto slingshot launcher. Press button to launch Stella toward the targets.

7. Terence 

 Load Terence onto slingshot launcher. Press button to launch Terence toward the targets.

8. Angry Birds’ Leonard 

Load King Pig onto slingshot launcher. Press button to launch King Pig toward the targets.

9. Cowboy Pig 

 Load Cowboy Pig onto slingshot launcher. Press button to launch Cowboy Pig toward the targets.

10. Pilot Pig 

 Load Pilot Pig onto slingshot launcher. Press button to launch Pilot Pig toward the targets.

The Angry Birds Movie also comes to life at McDonald’s with three Angry Birds-themed desserts offered for a limited time, namely Red’s Cotton Candy McFlurry, Piggies’ Oreo Matcha McFlurry, and Bomb’s Black Sesame McDip.
