Captain ZERO Unveiled as an Innovative Cockroach Bait!

The internet has been abuzz the past few months about a mysterious superhero character which came out on a Facebook Page by the name of Captain ZERO. Curious netizens and bloggers alike gave their share of guesses on who (or what) the dark silhouette could be. Hunches included a 'new TV show', an 'energy drink', and a 'slimming product'; the best guess was a ‘household cleaning product’.

Captain ZERO Revealed Last November 17, 2016, the guessworks ended as WINZO International Corporation, the company behind Captain ZERO, unveiled the product as an innovative cockroach bait Everyone among the media guests at the launch which consists of writers and bloggers were surprised as no one among them was able to exactly guess that Captain ZERO was a cockroach bait.

"A clean home means a healthy family as bacteria and germs brought about by dust and pest such as cockroaches and rats can carry diseases through contaminated food, kitchen counters, and utensils," Ms. Labii talked about the importance of cleanliness at home and shared some of her experiences as a medical professional, a food entrepreneur, and as a mother.

This product is cockroach bait that can play a big role in eliminating cockroaches in areas where food is found including moist areas such as kitchen, bathrooms & garages, which these pests love. It has a unique luring action that attracts and makes these bugs feed on the paste and lets them return to their harbourages, controlling them at their source. Cockroaches who eat the bait will eventually die in a few minutes or hours depending on the size and type of the bug. The formulation is a combination of very low toxic compounds while the main active ingredient is called Trihydroxyborane.

How To Use Captain ZERO Cockroach Bait
Empty one sachet in small shallow containers such as bottle caps. You can place these in moist places such as bathroom, kitchen sink, garage areas, and backyards or in places where cockroaches are frequently found. Some reports have indicated that a sachet can kill as much as 18 roaches and last for as much as 15 days (2 weeks) depending on the density of bugs in the area.

Here is a simple 3-Step guide on how to use the Captain ZERO Cockroach Bait
1. Open #CaptainZEROph sachet and pour into a shallow container.
2. Place container where many cockroaches are seen.
3. Leave for a few days until no more cockroaches are seen.
#ZEROangIPIS

This product is recommended to be used as a weekly regimen. Empty one sachet in separate locations (kitchen, bathrooms, garages) where there are food & heavy moisture every 1- 2 weeks to maintain a pest free environment. Although the active ingredients are low toxic to humans and animals, is still best to keep it away from children and house pets. If it is accidentally applied on the skin or eyes, simply remove it by washing the area thoroughly.

"Captain ZERO is an innovative product because it is the first cockroach bait in liquid paste form. Moreover, is the first Filipino-made cockroach bait. It is also budget friendly at only Php 15 per 10 gram sachet compared to other expensive brands in the market today,” shares Mr. Winston Tongco, President, Winzo International Corporation. It will also be on the shelves of all Puregold Supermarkets nationwide, in packs of 10s and boxes of 20s, starting January 2017

The 5 Exams A Woman Like You Should NOT Missed

Friday, December 23, 2016 Aci Girl 0 Comments

Christmas Season is a glorious thing, a time for thanksgiving, celebration, and the ripe month to fully enjoy the fruits of your labor. And just because you think your 13th-month pay and bonus are just a cherry on top, these hard-earned cash deserves to be saved and spent well on things with lasting impact on your health and sanity. With this in mind, let these 5 must-do lists from Jeunesse Anion Sanitary Napkins and Liners’ OB-Gyn Faith Suluen serve as your guide to encourage you to make time and set aside a budget for these screenings.

A post shared by Aci Girl (@aci_girl) on

Five Annual Exams that Deserve a Budget from Every Woman’s Bonus
1. Pap Smear and Pelvic Exam

Since it’s the quick screening test/procedure and the gold standard that detects precancerous or cancerous cells from papillomavirus or HPV, it’s essential to catch early any possible abnormal growth whether you’re sexually active by age 21 or the disease runs in the family. If you haven’t had a cervical vaccination, don’t hesitate to talk to your OB-Gyn or employer/health card provider to check if it’s part of your package, which according to Dr. Faith, is especially advantageous for women without a prior sexual contact.

2. Transvaginal ultrasound

Ensure your reproductive system (uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, cervix, and vagina) is on its absolute best. Highly recommended for checking irregularities or possible cysts, pelvic pain, unexplained vaginal bleeding and more, the ultrasound probe allows the doctor to see a bird’s eye view of the organs with more accurate results.

3. Mammogram and Breast Ultrasound
Although breast cancer is deemed as one of the leading causes of death among women worldwide, it’s totally curable and controllable with the help of early detection and regular screening. Both mammogram (for 40 years old and above) and breast ultra sound  (for 40 years old and below) is powerful tools even before a woman experiences its symptoms, so consider these tests as your major partners in prevention and to ensure full mammary health throughout your lifetime.

4. Blood Chemistry Test
Make a point to regularly monitor blood pressure and cholesterol, which are lifesavers from heart disease and stroke. Remember that the tender age of 20 should be a starting point of your biannual blood pressure monitoring habit with cholesterol checking every four to six years, but perhaps more frequently if age, weight, lifestyle habits, and family history are major factors of developing your risks.

5. Routine Urinalysis

Considered as one of the simplest yet most powerful screening tests that detect UTI, kidney disorders, liver problems, and diabetes, it also helps to diagnose specific disorders such as endocrine diseases and bladder cancer. Even if you don’t feel any abdominal or back pain and abnormalities in your urine, it’s a preventive test that will keep your urinary system at the pink of their health.

The budget and time you set aside for wellness will determine whether or not this old adage rings true for you. So as a grown-up woman who’s also fussy about your sanitary pads, choose quality and mull over a brand that can do more for you, like Jeunesse Anion. Since its anion strip feature is uniquely on its own that greatly helps in reducing feminine discomforts like dysmenorrhea, cramps, and icky odor, consider this to be one of your most valuable essentials as a smart and wellness-conscious woman. Available in 5 variants from panty liner, ultra day pad, ultra day non-wing, ultra night pad, to all night pad, these choices ensure that you’re covered throughout every stage of your red days and helps relieve the not-so-pleasant side effects of being a lady.

Find joy and comfort from these incredibly affordable recipes that were creamier and perfectly sweeter with Jolly Cow Condensada, the all-time favorite dessert ingredient to round out your holiday meal.

Fiesta Fruit Salad

Ingredients:
1 can                   Jolly Cow Condensada
1 can (850g)       Jolly Tropical Fruit Cocktail, drained well
1 cup                  Shredded fresh buko (young coconut)
1 cup                   Nata de coco, drained well
1 cup                   Jolly Peach halves, drained well
1 cup                   Pineapple tidbits, drained well
1 cup                   Slices of fresh fruits like apple and seedless grapes (optional)
½ cup                  Cheese, diced (optional)
1 can                   All-purpose cream

Garnish:
1 cup                   Mini marshmallows (optional)
                            Jolly Maraschino cherries (optional)

Directions:
1.      Drain all the water from the cans of the fruit ingredients.
2.      Combine all ingredients (except for the marshmallow and cherries) in a large mixing bowl and blend well.
3.      Place in a container and chill for 2 to 3 hours before serving.
4.      Serve with mini marshmallows as garnish on top and finish off with a cherry if desired.

Makes 8 to 10 servings.

Pinoy Leche Flan

Ingredients:
1 can (390g) of Jolly Cow Condensada
1 can (370ml) evaporated milk
10 egg yolks
1 teaspoon of grated dayap or lemon peel
1 cup of white sugar

Procedure:
1.      Put sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over low fire until the sugar caramelizes.
2.      Pour the caramelized sugar equally into three llaneras. Evenly coat the caramelized sugar on the bottom of the llanera. Set aside.
3.      In a bowl, gently mix together the Jolly Cow Condensada, evaporated milk, egg yolks, and the grated dayap. Make sure to gently mix so as not to create bubbles in the mixture.
4.      Gently and evenly pour the mixture on the llaneras containing the caramelized sugar.
5.      Cover each llanera with aluminum foil.
6.      Steam for about 30 minutes or until firm (steaming time may depend on the thickness of the llanera).
7.      Cool and then refrigerate.

Tip: You can tell when the leche flan is fully cooked by inserting a knife in the middle of the mixture--if
the knife comes clean, it is fully cooked.

Makes three(3) llaneras
Have a Jolly Cow Christmas!

Jolly Cow Condensada is available in leading supermarkets and groceries nationwide.

Healthy Options Holiday Tradition 2016 Gift Guide

Wednesday, December 14, 2016 Aci Girl 0 Comments

Festive family treats without the bad stuff
Noche Buena can just be as healthy as it is delicious
Christmas in the Philippines is like no other. With all the festive colors, bright lights, and jolly carols that play as early as September, it’s not surprising that Yuletide takes a different flavor in a country where the holiday lasts a season.
This is especially true about the food. Filipino Christmas is never complete without the scrumptious delicacies served throughout December, especially on Noche Buena.
Unfortunately, most of our Christmas delights aren’t exactly good for our health. If you truly want to show how much you care in this warmest of seasons, consider giving your loved ones the gift of health.
Good food that does good
Packaged snacks and condiments from the grocery often contain unwanted additives such as artificial flavoring, colors, and preservatives that could pose a risk to our health. Excessive amounts of salt, sugar, and fats further add sodium and calories to the already rich food we serve every Christmas.
Your holiday dinner shouldn’t cause worry, so choose food from organic and all-natural sources. That’s what you’ll find in Healthy Option’s Christmas catalogue featuring wholesome selections for a nutritious feast.
For Noche Buena, the Star of Bethlehem holiday box offers gourmet selections including chickpea pasta for macaroni and cheese, ancient grain salad with red quinoa and chickpeas, cheese pairs, mushroom marinara, and chips made of spinach and kale.
Thinking of only having a small celebration with loved ones? The St. Nicholas holiday box would surely be a treat, with picks including coconut milk, bran cereal, and pancake mix for a healthy breakfast to start the day.
And to cap the night off with your favorite dessert, Healthy Options has a collection of sparkling juices in delicious flavors such as Açaí, Wildberry, Peach, Grape, Golden Apple, and Rosé for you to choose from.
Big difference in small bites
Snacks always bring life to parties. Add a healthy twist with Healthy Options’ Advent Candle and Evergreen Fir holiday boxes that offer selections you can munch on without guilt.
Organic snacks from the Advent Candle box include mint chocolate cookies, granola minis, pumpkin seeds, and kettle corn. For all-natural goodness, you’ll surely love the whole grain chips, pistachio cranberry biscotti, cereal squares, and more from the Evergreen Fir box.
If gluten is a concern because of celiac disease among your friends and family, then the Christmas Angel box is your best pick. Truly heaven-sent, this holiday package comes with gluten-free delectable including potato ridges, bean crisps, coconut macaroons, and exotic rice toasts made of red rice and flaxseed.

St. Nicholas Catering by Chef Nick has a new venture and here's a clue, It is still in the scope of food industry... It's St.Nicholas Restaurant!

Sige na nga, that punchline didn't went so well but this post is a great one, though.

Chef Nick started his catering business in 2003 and it's working pretty fine and now he's up for another one and it's a restaurant that opened in April 2014.

The Restaurant

St. Nicholas Restaurant is located in a spacious area at Brgy Plainview in Mandaluyong. Nothing fancy but there's a lot going on. There's a corner with lots of paper lanterns hanging, a Japanese inspired side. Also, a Pinoy corner where images of some popular landmarks where seen. Plus the not-to-be-missed Christmas side with Humungous Teddy and a couple of St.Nicholas displays were spotted too. Bes, si Santa Claus, Just livin' in up to the branding :) The venue is not air conditioned or with enclosed glass panels like the usual resto's I've been into. But this place? hindi naman magpapahuli, lalo na sa FOOD! Plus Afford naten toh (^.^,)

St Nicholas Menu

Desserts

What's on my plate?

Almost everything (^.^,) I love everything they had in this bilao. Most especially the hot and juicy shrimps. I just wished that the liempo was cooked the ihaw way or without breading for contrast, making it more appealing. But still, it was delightful.

Tinolang Manok sa Pakwan - Having a pakwan in a soup is not new to me. I loved it in sinigang :P But for Tinola? I was not expecting this. But amazed that I like it. Actually, I want to try making this at home. :)

Just some of the Bilao Set St. Nicholas Restaurant Offers.
