Jodi and Thirdy joins the Jollibee family as the latest Jolly Spaghetti endorsers.
Celebrity mom and certified Jollibee fan proud to share endorsement experience with son

Jollibee recently welcomed Jodi and Thirdy as the newest brand ambassadors for Jolly Spaghetti during the media launch held at the Ortigas Roosevelt branch. Jodi and Thirdy, who stars in the latest TV commercial for Jolly Spaghetti, shared their own personal experiences, from happy memories when she was a kid and to how she now enjoys the same bonding moments with Thirdy. The Jolly Spaghetti Sweet-Sarap Moments event also featured fun games for the media guests and their kids.

Jolly Family. Jodi Sta. Maria, the 34-year-old star of Be Careful with My Heart and Pangako Sa ‘Yo, and son Thirdy Lacson are the newest endorsers of the cheesiest, meatiest, and sweet-sarap Jolly Spaghetti.

Batang Jollibee at heart
Jodi confesses to being a certified Batang Jollibee, even before she got into show business. Her mother worked hard to raise Jodi and her siblings, but made sure to devote her Saturdays to quality time over her children’s favorite Jollibee treats.

Every Saturday, iti-treat niya kami sa Jollibee sa may Landmark food court,
         Jodi recalled.
Talagang masasabi ko na kinalakihan ko si Jollibee. At hindi lang ‘yon, kasi bawat party, bawat celebration, talagang naging part siya ng family namin at ng pamilyang Pilipino.
Certified Jolli-Kids. Jodi admits to being a batang Jollibee even before entering showbiz. Thirdy, now 11, is a big Jollibee fan, too.

Growing up, Jodi said she would often order Jolly Spaghetti and Jolly Hotdog, and it became staples in her bonding moments with her mom. Now that she’s a mother herself, she wants to pass on the same joyful experience to Thirdy. The 10-year old loves the cheesy, meaty, and sweet-sarap flavors of Jolly Spaghetti.

Wala akong nakilalang bata na gusto ng maasim na spaghetti,
       the actress remarked candidly.
Especially Filipino children. I believe na nakuha ng Jollibee ‘yung manamis-namis na timpla na hinahanap-hanap ng bawat batang Pilipino.

Mom first, actress second
Jodi remains simple even with her celebrity status and recent accolades for her stellar TV performances. Despite her busy schedule, she makes sure that spending quality time with Thirdy is her priority, just as her own mother did years ago.

The actress related that she and Thirdy can spend hours upon hours just talking about anything, especially over their favorite Jolly Spaghetti. They often order “C3,” the Jolly Spaghetti and Chickenjoy combo, for delivery or drive-thru.

Sa hapagkainan, that’s where the bonding happens. Nakakatuwa si Thirdy when you spend time with him. He’s a very opinionated child. Baka pwede siyang maging lawyer,
          Jodi proudly added.

Perfect Choice for Jolly Spaghetti
Jollibee likewise is equally happy and excited to welcome Jodi and Thirdy to the family.
“Jodi and Thirdy are the perfect endorsers for Jolly Spaghetti,” said Kent Mariano, Jollibee Assistant Vice President for Marketing. “Despite Jodi’s celebrity status and hectic schedule, she believes in making even the smallest of moments count when it comes to strengthening her bond with Thirdy and her family. Jodi’s own story and personal experiences of bonding with her mom and now with her son is something that many Pinoy families can relate to. We at Jollibee have always proud to be part of such memorable moments.”

The latest TVC features Jodi reminiscing her bonding moments as a kid with her mom, and fast forward to the present, Jodi letting Thirdy experience the same happy moment while enjoying their favorite Jolly Spaghetti.

Taiwan Selects. “We were convinced about the strong market potential of the country, and that’s why we decided on a store theme that grabs the attention of young Filipinos.”

The pop-up store featured delicacies, cosmetics, fashion, technology, and modern household goods catering to a younger market. The store was designed to exude a party-like vibe, while the use of bright, energetic colors such as blue, yellow, and orange that created an atmosphere modern Filipino families would enjoy.

For the Philippines, 15 popular Taiwanese brands were introduced, with freebies and demos so guests would get a taste of Taiwan’s best.

Featured beauty and skincare brands included Dr. Morita, a facial mask brand that has sold 30 million pieces worldwide; Naruko, which makes natural skincare products; TS6, a globally famous probiotic brand for women’s health; Hydron, the top Taiwanese contact lens brand; Dr. Formula, a body and beauty care line developed by a professional medical team; and City Color, a brand known for its affordable fashion cosmetic products.

It has been drizzling for the past few days and we are definitely at the end tail of summer but nothing can stop our pure love for travelling with our family and friends. However, sometimes things get in the way of planning like applying for vacation leaves, scheduling flights or bus routes, and most especially, budget.  This list would like to help you plan your trip during the remaining summer month with options of doing a day trip, a weekender, or maybe spending some nights in a nice town outside the city bringing along the perfect baon for everyone in the family or your barkada.
The Day Tripper
We understand the struggle of scheduling a trip when some can only take a day off. So why not beat the heat chasing waterfalls in Pagsanjan, Laguna? The Pagsanjan Falls is one of the most popular falls in the Philippines and is very near Manila. With a travelling time of two hours from Manila, you can board a small boat and enjoy watching the bangkeros make their way to the falls, conquering rapids and rocky stream.
While being in awe looking at the majestic falls, serve a quick fix for everyone on the trip with some crackers and a can of Mega Tuna Spanish Style! It is made from 100% tuna so you can make sure that you are getting the benefits from tuna like Omega 3, protein, and B-vitamins.
The Weekender

Some of us are lucky to have weekends off and there is no doubt that maximizing it during the summer is the best way to spend days off from work or school or dance lessons.

Pack your bags and head off up north on a Saturday and visit Minalungao National Park in Nueva Ecija. Limestone formations can be seen by foot or on a bamboo raft along the Penaranda River.

If the waves are calling, head to Zambales and take a siesta in a hammock under hundreds of agoho trees. Enjoy ashen sands of Anawangin and Nagsasa Cove with the barkada for some ultimate camping experience.

On the way up north, the gang will surely get hungry on the road. Bring out the bread and a can of Mega Tuna Flakes in Oil or Hot and Spicy for the daredevils! Because it comes in an easy-to-open can, you can have a mini picnic inside the van! For family members or friends who are health enthusiasts, they don't have to worry for they can be sure that they are savoring the true taste of tuna, because all Mega Tuna variants are made from 100% tuna with no extenders, no preservatives, and no MSG, making them 100% delicious.

More Days, Mega Fun

If your family has some days to spare for your trip, file your leaves and brush up on some history as you walk along the cobblestone street of Calle Crisologo in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. You can also visit Syquia Mansion where the former President Elpidio Quirino used to live. The mansion’s beauty can be seen through its wood carvings of pageboys and country lasses and its antique furnitures will surely bring back the yesteryears. For the youngsters, a trip to Baluarte would be a great idea. It is a zoo owned by a former governor of Ilocos Sur.

Mega Tuna Sweet and Spicy

After a day filled with lots of historical tours, end the day with an easy but nice dinner with flair. Since Ilocos Sur is one of the few remaining intact Hispanic towns in the country,  pass around some tortillas and Mega Tuna Sweet and Spicy! So yummy! With Mega Tuna, you can be sure that only the right ingredients are being used because it does not utilize Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP) or commonly known as "extenders". Hence, you get what is being promised, the delicious taste of true tuna.
Wherever you go this summer, be it a daytrip or a week-long vacation with your family or friends, the most important is that you will have a Mega trip filled with 100% pure love and fun!

If you’re up for solo travelling, Mega Tuna has come up with 155g Flakes in Oil and Hot and Spicy that is easier to pack and lighter to carry in you travel bag!

Vista Cinemas opens first and only MX4D Motion EFX Theater in the country at Evia Lifestyle Center. New state-of-the-art theaters redefine movie watching experience in Metro South

Mall-goers of the Metro South can now experience the best cinema experience available in the world.
After the successful opening of its first movie theaters in Taguig, Vista Cinemas has opened to the public its second location at Evia Lifestyle Center in Vista City, Daang Hari. The four new movie theaters equipped with unique top-of-the-line features are now ready to redefine the movie-watching experience in the Southern Metro.

Three of the four newly opened cinemas are fitted with the latest and the best in audio technology--Dolby Atmos -- which allows movie-goers to feel like they're part of every scene. Sound produced by the Atmos System is projected from every direction in the cinema and moves with the action on-screen – creating a one-of-a-kind movie experience.

Apart from this world-class sound system, all four theaters of the Vista Cinemas are equipped with luxury seating from the FIGUERAS and LUXOS brands available only in select locations around the world.

Figueras is a Spanish brand that specializes in crafting high-end seating for public spaces. Their seats can be found in places such as The White House and the Philharmonie de Paris. Luxos is a specialized line developed by the Japanese furniture brand Okamura. Luxos is a new and original concept of a lounge chair with a lower, reclining seating posture that provides added comfort through its active back structure and smart operation.

Couples living and working in the area can now also get to experience world-class movie dates. Vista Cinema 2 at Evia Lifestyle Center has thirty-one customized love seats that take the romantic movie experience to a whole new level of comfort and coziness.

Best of all, Vista Cinema now brings the first and only MX4D Motion EFX Theater in the country to Southern Metro Manila. This latest evolution in 4D cinema technology features MX4D theater seats that move in-sync with the action on-screen, while special EFX generators inside the cinema make viewers feel every jolt, poke, tilt, plus timed wind and mist atomizers. Vista Cinema's MX4D theater lets residents in the south enjoy the latest cinema innovations without them needing to go too far from home, avoiding the stress and traffic of the busy Central Metro.

The two top-of-the-line movie theaters opened last month are only the first phase of growth for Vista Cinemas. With more Vista Cinema locations all over the country set to open within the year, more Filipinos can look forward to a new era of premier movie viewing, right by their doorstep.

Celebrating Mother’s Day with Uratex

There is nothing quite as difficult and as fulfilling as it is to be a parent. For mothers, it means having to balance her commitments to her spouse, family, work, household, and social life. They are an embodiment of the empowered women - women of strength, patience, perseverance, and passion.

In celebration of Mother’s Day, Uratex held a special sparty for mommy bloggers at the Ronac Lifestyle Center, Magallanes. The event aims not only to raise awareness on how to achieve better sleep but to also to give participants a well-deserved break from their hectic schedules.

The Xsensor Challenge

At the Uratex Premium Gallery, participants went to a mini-workshop wherein they learned more about the essence of good sleep. They got a chance to try the XSensor Machine, an image – pressuring device that helps sleepers detect which mattress best fits their needs.

While relaxing on a Uratex Premium Mattress, they watched a short informational video by Dr. Keith Aguilera, ENT/Sleep Specialist from the Philippine Society of Sleep Medicine on tips for a healthy sleep. The rest of the afternoon was spent with fun-filled pampering activities – a well-deserved break for our hard-working moms.

Herbalife’s Nutrition At Work Survey Reveals Majority of Philippines’ Workforce Lead Largely Sedentary Lifestyles, Putting them at Risk of Obesity

Fifth Herbalife Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour seeks to address health issues associated with sedentary lifestyles and deepen practical understanding on the benefits of a healthy, active life

Herbalife, a global nutrition company, has released the findings of the new Nutrition At Work Survey, which revealed that the majority of Philippines’ workforce leads largely sedentary lifestyles, putting them at risk of obesity. The Survey1, which was designed to understand the lifestyle habits and attitudes of Asia Pacific’s modern workforce, was conducted in March with 5,500 full-time workers in 11 Asia-Pacific markets, including 500 workers from the Philippines.

According to the survey findings, almost nine out of 10 (85%) workers in the Philippines spend at least six hours a day sitting at their desk, with 52% of its workforce eating lunch at their work desk two to five times per week. The survey also revealed that majority of Philippines’ workforce (86%) exercise less than three times per week, with five out of 10 getting less than 30 minutes of physical activity a day at their workplace. This suggests a significantly worrying trend locally, on the back of rising obesity rates recorded in recent years.

Nevertheless, the risk of obesity could be averted if workers in the Philippines decide to take control over their own nutritional intake and exercise regimen. Close to eight out of 10 workers (75%) affirmed that they strive to live a healthy, active life, however, the majority of them noted that they find it difficult to stay active during workdays.

“With a majority of Philippines’ workforce leading largely sedentary lifestyles, our mission as a global nutrition company is to help people in the Philippines take practical steps towards leading healthy, active lives. By inculcating positive nutrition and active lifestyle habits to people in the Philippines, we hope that this will, over time, help reduce obesity risks and lead to positive improvements to the well-being of our people,” said Mr. Rosalio Valenzuela, General Manager of Herbalife Philippines.

Aimed at addressing health issues associated with sedentary lifestyles, and deepening practical understanding on the benefits of healthy, active lifestyles, Herbalife launched its fifth Asia Pacific Wellness Tour 2016, held in the months of April and May. The latest edition of the Wellness Tour builds upon the successes of the past four tours that welcomed more than 80,000 participants across the region, and features a host of medical symposiums, talks and workshops led by seven experts from Herbalife’s Nutrition Advisory Board (NAB), covering 26 cities across Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Gary Small, M.D. has recently visited the country and shared his expert views on digital dementia and brain aging at the “A Smart Way to Healthy Aging: A Talk by Gary Small, M.D.” event. Dr. Small, a specialist in brain health and aging, has authored over 500 scientific works and received numerous awards and honors, including the "Senior Investigator Award" from the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry.

During the talk Dr. Small addressed health and nutrition related issues associated with sedentary lifestyles and share practical tips on how today’s workforce can live healthier lives by making simple changes to their daily lifestyles. Health and medical professionals, academics, as well as the general public have also engaged in lively dialogues with Dr. Small at the event, and had the chance to network with like-minded professionals through the Herbalife Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour platform.

Rounding up the team of Herbalife NAB experts who have participated in the Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour are:

·      Dr. David Heber, chairman of the Herbalife Nutrition Institute and Nutrition Advisory Board. A leading expert in the field of nutrition, named as one of “The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds” by Thomson Reuters in 2014 and repeatedly included in “The Best Doctors in America”.

·    Dr. Chin-Kun Wang, an expert in metabolism and nutrition, with a focus on the clinical evaluation of nutritional supplements, nutraceuticals, functional foods and herbs. He was awarded the National Award of Biomedicine in Taiwan in 2008 for his contribution to medical education.

·     Dr. Julian Alvarez Garcia, a specialist in sports medicine and sports physiology who has advised professional teams, national teams and individual athletes on a range of disciplines including weightlifting, triathlons, mountain biking, football and basketball.

·      Dr. Darren Burgess, an expert in sports science and nutrition who has authored papers in multiple peer review journals. He is also the current Head of High Performance at Port Adelaide Football (AFL) Club, and the former Head of Fitness and Conditioning at Liverpool Football Club.

·    Dr. Nataniel Viuniski, an expert in pediatrics and nutrition who has authored “Childhood Obesity – A Practical Guide”. He is also currently an advisor to Brazil's Health and Education Ministry for Childhood Obesity.

·    Dr. Francis Gregory Samonte, one of the Philippines’ premier experts in pediatric neurology, and the first Filipino appointed to the NAB. He was a recipient of the Chairman’s Achievement Award from the University of Louisville, Kentucky’s Department of Pediatrics.

The NAB experts were also joined by Dr. Luigi Gratton, Herbalife’s vice president of nutrition education and development, who has written numerous articles on nutrition and obesity, and has appeared on television speaking on nutrition, anti-aging medicine, sports nutrition and other medical topics.

With each new edition of the Wellness Tour, we are seeing an increasing number of people gain practical knowledge to lead better lives. We hope that that this year’s Tour will further empower people to take charge of their nutritional intake and exercise regimen, so that they can enjoy the full benefits of a healthy, active life,
        Mr. Valenzuela concluded.
