YOU ARE ABOUT TO GET A REAL LIFE POWER UP!
Video game characters may get their speed, strength, and agility from power-ups but in real life, children develop these qualities through a combination of nutritious diet, active lifestyle and healthy competition.
Open to children 6 to 14 years old, Alaska IronKids Philippines is the local junior version of the international triathlon series, Ironman. Triathlon is a race that features three sporting events: running, swimming and biking. The competition is open to kids who are new to the sport and those who have already joined other triathlon events.
Alaska Ironkids aims to promote a well-balanced lifestyle for kids of today, who are used to staying indoors with TV, video game console and the Internet as companions. Ironkids is also the perfect venue for families to bond and for parents to demonstrate in “real-time” that being HEALTHY can also be fun. source: ironkidsphil.com

Last April 19, Alaska IronKids Aquathlon I (Swim and Run) was held at The Village Sports Club.
IronKids aged 6-8 lining up and ready to swim.
Honestly, this was my first time to witness a sporty event like this. Nakikita ko lang yung mga ganito sa instagram feed ko or the internet. I was aiming to be sporty too, kaso baka di na kaya ng heart ko. Kaya when I found out that it is going to be a "Kids Edition" Oh My Gosh!!! kaya ba ng mga bagets ito? and Boy Oh Boy! Mali Ako...

I underestimated those kiddilets! Astig pala sila and Ang lakas!!

Behind The Scenes

I am super proud of them. Kahit siguro ilaban ako sa 6 year old I'm so talo :( Inggit much I can't swim eh :P

Wala akong nakitang nag-stopped sa pag swim. Yung tipong "teka po I'll just catch my breath..." walang ganun... Ako ang napagod for them :) Grabe pinaghandaan siguro talaga ng mga kids ito. I noticed ang mga muscles nila perfect! At a very young age I can really see that they are in good shape and into sports pa, mind you aquathlon ito! bongga! super sports! Iniisip ko na nga kung i-train ko na din my kids into thi kesa maging hooked sa gadgets. But first mag-aral muna kami mag swim :)

But for those na marunong na magswim and interested to be part of the next IronKids Philippines Aquathlon or Triathlon see details below:
